The content is divided into two parts. Firstly, by the experiment of suction penetration of bucket foundation model in the sand and silt ,pore pressure of bucket inward and outward, water discharge and plug are measured. Descendant velocity of bucket foundation and hydraulic gradient in different sensors are calculated and further the difference in the process of penetration between them is analyzed. Secondly, The model experiment of silt is carried out in wave tank. Coupling effect of bucket function, silt units and wave is revealed by measuring the variety of pore water pressure inward and outward bucket function and the physical and mechanical property inward silt. According to the parameters of loading wave, limited deep-water wave is chosen. Wavelength is calculated by iterative method. These are the base of designing platform of bucket foundation. By data processing and analyzing, the conclusions are drowned as follows:According to the model experimenting results in the sand and silt, the penetrating process of bucket function is studied and initially the reason of diversity during suction penetration is analyzed. It is the difference of permeability coefficient of sand and silt that causes the diversity of suction process.hydraulic gradient is calculated in sand and silt between different sensors implying the changing process that hydraulic gradient varies with time and depth during the suction penetration. Hydraulic gradient in silt increases then decreases and the maximum is occurred near the edge of the bucket .Hydraulic gradient in sand increases constantly and the maximum is occurred when the bottom of bucket arrives to the sand surface.Pore water pressure inward and outward bucket about the silt changes in term of the time of wave action and different loading wave parameters. Pore water pressure in different sensors also appear variably and the reason is given that presuming the parameters of loading wave is same, silt is sympathetic vibrated and the pore water pressure of silt inward bucket is larger than outward.The factors of instability of bucket in silt is analyzed under the action of wave. What is more, the accumulated increase of pore water pressure in silt causes the decrease of effective stress and the erosion to the silt near bucket by wave. Three periods can be divided according to the mechanism of erosion.
