In order to decrease concrete crack and thus to enhance the pumped storage duration, The construction of the reinforced concrete branch tube of Tai'an pumped storage experiencing high-water-pressure and high-speeding-fluid brushing need a new scheme of fiber concrete in place of ordinary concrete. A reasonable formulation of fiber concrete is previously determined by indoor experiment and its effectiveness will be proved by the experiment in place. Finally, we can determine whether the fiber concrete scheme be taken .With careful analysis and research, the project will heighten awareness of fiber concrete property and widen its application in fields of civil engineers. The status of research on polyopropylence fiber concrete and steel fiber concrete is explicated and analyzed in this text. And the drawback of previous related research and further prospect are carried out subsequently. On the basis of the strength text, dramatic decrease of distance between fibers will result in the decline of concrete density and thus weakens the strengthening effect of fiber. And a lowest limit should be posed on the fiber distance which the previous fiber theory has ignored. On the durability test, a conclusion is made that the proportion of fiber and cement should kept in a reasonable range. Otherwise the capacity of leaking resistance may drop acutely. On the test of dry shrinkage, a conclusion is also carried that fiber concrete has no effective effect on decreasing the degree of dry shrinkage, but on the constrain of shrinking crack which heighten capacity of stressed fiber concrete. The related test and analysis on fiber concrete is conducted for crack resistant property and mechanism of raising toughness and crack resistance.
