With more and more widely usage of turbocharged diesel engines, the technology of air inter-cooling system is adopted at the same time, which brings higher efficiency to the turbocharged engines. In this thesis we have a preliminary study on the evaporated-cooling intercooler, which possesses several strong points of energy saving, environment protecting and work condition improving.First of all, a membranous model of evaporate-cooling medium during the course of evaporate-cooling was worked out, and several primary factors affected on the membranous model were analyzed. Mathematic models of drips in both static and convective medium were set up according to the drips microcosmic evaporating theory, and feasibility calculation was also performed according to two different types of diesel engines.Experimental wind tunnel equipment was also established and wind speed range was estimated based on the experimental results, according to which experimental medium was selected.At the end of this thesis, experimental study on the evaporate-cooling system was carried out on the wind tunnel equipment in the Turbine Laboratory. Conclusion was drawn based on the experimental results that when water evaporate, heat in the air is absorbed, so the temperature of the intake charge decreases. The evaporate-cooling equipment simplifies the intake charge system of turbocharged diesel engine, which enhances the working reliability and reduces the maintenance work intensity.
