With the' development of the power system, in the modern power system, whether the protective relay have the ability of operating correctly, timely, reliably or not, is one of the critical factors, which are determine whether the whole power system steadily operate or not, so, quickly test the protective relay overall is necessary link. In the process of testing, it is important whether the power source, supplied by programmed testing source for protective relay, is reliable or not.At present, the requirement to a measuring and controlling system of its precision, large quantity data operation speed and real-time processing is higher than before. The system based on the single chip microcomputer can't meet the demand in many situations, and, is being replacing by system based on DSP. System based on D5P has remarkable performance, such as high operation speed, precision and already become a technical hotspot.In this thesis, the importance of the protective relay in steadily operation of power system was introduced at first, meanwhile, surveyed the situation of test for protective relay in the world, and, simply introduced the latest technologies in the field of the test for protective relay, then, the structure and fundamental of test system for protective relay are described. Also, the composition, feature and design process of DSP application system are present in the thesis. Finally, the thesis centered on the programmed testing source system, based on the DSP. TMS320LF2407, TI's digital signal processor, which are widely applied in power system, was adopted in this system, there have been finished the hardware system's circuit design, printed circuit board fabricated and debug, also, have been finished parts of software.From research and application in the world, the test device for protective relay, based on the DSP, will have a bright application prospect.
