With the developments of our country's electric power industry and the progress of computer technology and communication technology, power distribution network automation system is applied widely to electric power industry. This thesis presents the research of power distribution network automation communication system based on OFDM modulation technology and Power Line Communication technology. It includes advanced modulation technology, computer interface technology, network technology and Power Line Communication technology. Combined with existed supervision facilities and the conditions of communication channel, it emphasizes the real-time transmission of distribution information and application of special integrated power line transceiver. It makes automation communication system of powerdistribution network more intellective and integrative.In order to satisfy the demand of improving power supply quality and reliability,some areas put automation system into power distribution network management plan. This thesis carries on further research at the foundation of new technology, such as OFDM modulation technology, Power Line Communication technology, Ethernet technology, and realizes a new-type automation communication system suitable for MV power distribution network. It can get high transmission speed, high security and better anti-interference ability.The thesis is divided into six chapters to respectively discuss the contents of the above studies, and the following works and achievements have been accomplished.1. Explore the actuality and development of power distribution network automation communication system, and study the topology and means of communication based on current power distribution network. The domestic and international literatures correlating with power automation have been consulted. The new-type automation communication system suitable for MV power distribution network is presented.2. Analysis the channel characteristic and digital modulation technology of power line, and realize system frame, hardware design and software program.3. Probe the actual condition of power distribution network, adopt central intellective control mode, open architecture, object-oriented programming to obtain system compatibility and expansibility.4. Detail in circuits design of host-station communication terminal, including the hardware design and correlative software programming of micro-controllercircuit based on ARM7TDMI, PLC modem, interface circuit to PC, AFE, coupler and power circuits, etc.The realization of power distribution network automation system based on OFDM modulation technology and Power Line Communication technology in this thesis is constructive to actualize the project of power distribution network automation system in middle, small cities and towns. Its study has practical mean to power distribution network' s reconstruction and reform and improvement of automation in power system.
