Here are some trouble in the design of electric industrial remote monitoring system, such as the rapid rising of software cost, high complexity, without a logic system for the product; the reason is: in the developing process, requirement is not clear; lack of methods and tools; the expanding of software scale; the enhance of complexity. Base that, we put our eyes on the application of software architecture.How to model a Remote Monitoring system? We construct "4+1" view model of the product based on requirement we known. "4+1" view model describe the architecture for 5 aspects: Logic view, process view, physical view, develop view and scenarios view. Every view concern one side of the system, so they can image the architecture all sided.In order to reuse the frame, we consider the style of the architecture. Architecture style includes classic architecture style and C/S, C/S/S, B/S, CORBA and so on, we discuss three of them in this article: C/S, B/S and C/S + B/S.While we have modeled the architecture in macro view, we use UML to describe the architecture in micro view, the description include 4 elements: class, interface, connector, collaboration diagram.The application of software architecture in Remote Monitoring System solves the trouble mentioned above, and creates the base of realization of horizontal reuse in product area and vertical reuse in developing process.
