The soil stabilizers were additives which could reactive with the soil and they couldimprove the engineering properties of the soil. It was significant in technique and economy tostabilize the soil, because the stabilization with the soil stabilizers was avail of the local soilwhich was abundant and large distributing for the basic materials and the soil exploration andprocess was easy. Based on the other's productions and the disadvantages in strength, unti-seepage andfreeze-thaw resistance of the stabilized-soil at the present, the paper mainly discussed theprimary experiments of the two types of the new soil stabilizers in order to get the new soilstabilizers in high strength, low penetrate and high freeze-thaw resistance, which could beapplied in the engineering, and could develop the soil stabilization and enlarge the scope ofthe soil stabilizers. One type of soil in Beijing area, five powdery stabilizers, one milk stabilizer and oneliquid stabilizer were selected in the experiment. Two soil stabilizers PS1 and MS, which canimprove the unconfined compressive strength obviously, were chosen according to thestrength increase and to the ratio of the capability and the price. The results as follows: 1.The unconfined compressive strength of the stabilized soil was obviously improvedwhen adding stabilizer PS1 or MS, and it was increased most when adding 0.05%~0.1%stabilizer PS1 or adding 3%~5% stabilizer MS. 2.The proportion of the stabilizer, the cement, the molding stress and the time were themost factors to the unconfined compressive strength. 3.The penetrate coefficient of the stabilized soil reached 10-6 cm/s when addingstabilizer PS1 or MS, and it also had good water stability and dry-wet resistance, which couldadapt to the ditch needs. 4.The times of the freeze-thaw of the stabilized-soil which adding stabilizer MS wasexcess of 50, while the loss of the compressive strength of the stabilized-soil which addingstabilizer PS1 was over 25% only after 25 freeze-thaw times. The paper also discussed the construction technics, the economic analysis and theprinciple of the stabilized-soil with the two types of new stabilizers. The results and the analysis expressed that the new stabilizers could be applied to theroad or ditch engineering according to different conditions.
