Budget making of power construction projects play important role in our company. Traditionally, budget making is implemented by hand. Its shortcoming is very clear: too complicated computation and too many computation errors. In this paper, automatic system of budget making is introduced, in comparison with traditional method, this system is more efficient: rapider computation speed, more accurate, higher automatic degree.Based on real research project "Study on automatic system of budget making of construction projects in power industry", in this paper, pattern theory is studied thoroughly, especially its use in budget making in power industry. At last, the system is developed in detail, it includes two parts: Equipment assembly and Lay of Transmission line.Main points includes:First, by use of object-oriented technology and pattern theory, budget making of power construction projects especially Transmission line projects is analyzed and studied deeply. So from the real object of projects to class of software system, the pattern of budget making is introduced to solve the most difficult problem in budget making, that is the input of project quantity of budget items (PQOBI), meanwhile in the part of Equipment assembly, a set of budget pattern is created too, item tree is design to accelerate the input speed of PQOBI;Secondly, on the basis of the modified matching algorithm of character string and simple information filtering algorithm, a new kind input method of PQOBI is introduced in this paper, which improve the efficiency of budget making remarkably, meanwhile in the part of Equipment assembly, specific equipment and material information is pulled from CAD drawing of design, which make automation of input method PQOBI come true;Thirdly, in term with the specific characteristics of budget making of power construction especially of transmission line and Equipment assembly, the total process is analyzed and two software systems are developed.The developed system has been widely used in our company and acquired good comments from the users.
