The Use For Reference And Thinking--The Study Of Public Green Landscape In Yuzhong Peninsula And Vancouver Downtown Peninsula

The green landscape is the only vital element in the landscape of a city. It is significant for a city' s environment and sustainable development as well as for a multitude of recreational, cultural and education functions. Chongqing Yuzhong peninsula has the advantage of being surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, however, the city lacks green space. The Yuzhong peninsula government has realized the importance of green space for the city's image. Design competitions to enhance green space were held for Yuzhong peninsula in which most of the projects combined the soul of Bayu culture with elements from abroad. Vancouver is a famous garden city often voted number one in terms of quality of life. The city has a beautiful environment and abundant green landscape. The center of Vancouver, a downtown peninsula, has a similar natural environment, as well as regional and economic status as Chongqing's Yuzhong peninsula. The internationally recognized green landscape of Vancouver can thus be used as a measuring stick for the development of Yuzhong peninsula towards a greener environment. This thesis compares the green landscapes of Chongqing Yuzhong peninsula and Vancouver downtown peninsula and aims at finding the measures necessary to improve the green landscape of Yuzhong peninsula. This thesis can be subdivided into three parts:1. Analysis of the natural and social factors related to the green landscape and comparison of the two peninsulas, building the basis for parts two and three.2. Study of the green landscape of Yuzhong peninsula from the whole to its parts, focusing on its characters, problems and disadvantages. Analysis of the green landscape in Vancouver downtown peninsula towards improving green space in Yuzhong peninsula.3. Practical proposals in order to improve the green landscape of Yuzhong peninsula.
