In recent years, the technique of mechanical fault diagnosis, which plays important role in national manufacture, is quickly developed in domestic and oversea, and is deeply implied in many fields. It is momentous signification to faults diagnosis because diesel engines have special use. The technique of fault diagnosis is a newly synthetic technique that is established in various techniques and fused various theories. The research of diesel engine fault diagnosis can help us to find the fault, prevent the trouble, at the same time can bring the latent economic performance and social performance.This article introduces the theories of wavelet transformation, wavelet packets regarding diesel engine of engine as the research object from the angle of applied engineering. It studies the fundamentals of fault during the intelligent diagnosis of diesel engine fault using the vibration signal, how to pick up the fault characters and how to diagnose the fault. It availably realizes the diagnosis and analysis of diesel engine fault.Fuel injection system is an important part for the diesel engine, its condition has a direct influence to the burning process of diesel engine and it decides the diesel engine's function. This article analyzes systematically the work process of fuel injection system in detail. It analyzes the fault fundamentals and its influence of three coupling parts in the high pressure oil road and the injection process, three coupling parts include plunger coupling parts, delivery valve coupling parts and needle valve coupling parts. It discusses the pulse situation of fuel pressure under the every kind of typical fault model, and regarding this as according to pick up the pulse signal of pressure from the high pressure pipeline, and process wavelet decomposition, picks up the of parameter fault, make use of the model identification technique, realizes to the intelligent diagnosis of fuel injection system fault.
