In the stability assessment of rock slope, it's a very important segment to detailedly study the structural surfaces developed in the rockmass. The large amount of the structural surface datum are the base of the stability assessment. The statistic calculation of these datum will be done through the method of computer programme. The discontinuous structural surface which extends long and whose quality is inferior will be detailedly studied and analyzed. The mechanics theory of rockmass structural movement will be applied int the work of datum statistic calculation. The stereographic projection method is also used to analyzed the datum. Through those processing methods, the single sliding surfaces of man-made rock slope, the average obliquity of the structural surface intersection and the safe angle of slope will be figured out; so the stability assessment of the man-made rock slope can be carried out on the base of these parameters figured out.The power station to be built is situated in the combining site of land field and sea areas.The land field is divided into three terrace of sea erosion, and the sea erosion cliff is located in the advancing edge of terrace. To level the station district, the land field was excavated to sea reclamation which led to the formation of the man-made rock slope in the north and west. The design safety rank of the slope is second to first class. In the man-made slope section, there is a liitle plastic to rigit plastic status clay soil in the overlying strata and the underling bedrock is schist and phyllite. The uncompleted stratiform fracture structure appears in the rockmass. There are more than three groups structural surfaces developed in the rockmass. To accurately assess the stability of different slope sections, the power station area is divided into three districts.that is west district, center district and east district. In the west district, the coordinate B is less than 4j30m and the schistosity mainly inclines to thedirection of west and south-south-west(SSW). If the coordinate B equals to from 480m to 700m and the schistosity mainly inclines to the direction of north west, then the area belongs to center district. In the east district, the schistosity mainly inclines to the direction of west with the coordinate B more than 700m.The joints and fractures datum were collected by spot investigation through the window method. In the coast natural cliff, 23 sections and 962 strips of joints and fractures stretching over a meter were measured. In the survey, the origin of coordinate is in the left lower of window with the increasement of X value from the left to right and the increasement of Y value from lower to upper. The shapes of joints and fractures were simplified to the shapes of detation, undulance and smooth. The visible depth of open fracture is used as the depth of calculation parameter. The particle size component of filling substance is specified as following. If the particle diameter of filling substance more than 10 mm.it is called rock block; if the diameter is between in1 to 10 mmjt is called rock fragments; when the diameter is less than 1 mm, if there is no smooth perception pinched by hand.then ,it is called rock flour; on the other hand ,if threre is some smooth perception,it is called earth. The filling ratio is the possession percentageo of filling substance in the fracture. The condition of the fracture water is prescribed by three cases which are overflow,humidity and dryness.The stretching length of joints and iracture in the investigated station area is generally 2 to 3 meters. The open width of fracture is about 1 mm. Most of the joints and fracture contain water and fill gray or dark gray substance which is rock fragments or rock flour. The filling ratio is commonly over 60 percents. The shape of single joint is smooth and flat, and the most of the joints are shear joints.The following is the slope assessment:1 The output parameters of joints and fractures are denoted by the space output status denotion method which is adopted the right-hand principle...
