The researches of the urban thermal environment and air quality have been developed deeply along with the rapid development of urban size. But now, we only can analyses the urban thermal qualitatively not quantificational, because there are so many reasons effecting the mountain urban thermal environment. The author analyzed the reasons one by one firstly, then synthesized all the factors and found out the problems of urban thermal environment. And applying the thermal analysis to the urban planning and designing. Several issues were studied in this paper:Firstly, the CTTC and STTC model, which is popularly used in thermal environment, was study. And several parameters were made sure need to be observed. The turbulence equation used in the CFD simulation was studied, which afford some module to strengthen the CFD simulation.Secondly, a series of observations were carried out about the thermal environment in campus B of Chongqing University. For example, we study about the hypsography, the ground surface, and the greenbelt, the pool etc. The effects of the factors to the mountain urban thermal environment were proved by observed data. And some investigate was carried out about the PMV and PPD. Basal ways to improve the urban thermal environment were offered.Thirdly, the thermal parameters were observed of different places in Sha Pingba. The data were analyzed to find out the thermal problems in Sha Pingba.Fourthly, some thermal parameters like air temperature, air humidity, average radiant temperature, and surface temperatures of six surfaces, wind speed, sky views, were observed in August 6-9. The PPD and PMV were got. Some methods were provided for research on thermal environment of big acreage.Fifthly, different building towards, space between buildings and building position were simulation by CFD. The hydromechanical theory were used in the building planning to improve the nature ventilation in urban.Lastly, the hypsography, weather and air quality etc of YunYang were study to be used in the planning of Yun Yang. It's the first time to use the thermal environment theory to urban planning.This paper offered many important experiences for the latter research on urban thermal environment. The deepness and extent of study on urban thermal environmentwere expected to improve, to increase the thermal satisfaction, to save energy and protect environment.
