The energy crisis is a significant and long-term problems facing humanity, whichbuildings consume large amounts of energy annually. So applying Solar which isrenewable energy sources to buildings can effectively alleviate the shortage ofconventional energy. BIPV, applying photovoltaic technology in the construction, canbring many benefits. However, with the PV installations in the city of large scale,BIPV will impact the city’s thermal environment. This article is divided into two parts.First, compare the advantages and disadvantages of various forms of the photovoltaicbuilding, and demonstrates the promotion of large-area roof photovoltaic in the city.Second, analyze the impact of photovoltaic roof on the urban heat environment.The first part, through researching to the forms of building integratedphotovoltaic to analysis the application and characteristics of various BIPV forms.This paper analysis the different advantages and disadvantages of the photovoltaicroof, photovoltaic wall and photovoltaic component through photovoltaic technologyand building aesthetic. And analysis the different application and characteristicscombined with applications in Solar Decathlon Competition(2010).Ultimately, fromthe perspective of either photovoltaic technology&installation or support of statepolicies, point out that the outstanding advantages of roof photovoltaic in the futurephotovoltaic building large-scale application.The second part, through the model and experimental to discuss the influence ofthe PV roofs to the thermal environment in the city when the urban area installs PVroofs. Establish energy balance model of city thermal environment, develop the Oke’s"buildings-air system" heat balance model, consider the heat transfer betweenphotovoltaic plate and building roof, wall, ground, air; three kinds of model isestablished, which is PV/T roof model, general photovoltaic roof and common roof.After establishing the three models, selected three parameters to analysis the influenceof the PV roofs to the thermal environment, the three parameters are the solarirradiation degrees, generating efficiency of the battery, temperature differencebetween import and export of the medium in the PV/T. In the part of experiment,design and set up the experimental platform and test system of roof photovoltaic system, and then research the influence of the different photovoltaic roof to thethermal environment.
