Space truss Structure is used widely in power plant as coal storage for its practicability. It is mainly build up with large number of steel poles. Coal storage is higher than 30 meters,It's extent is more than 70 meters. The Design ,installation,manufacture of the coal storage influents the coal storage. The wind,snow temperature change can make the coal storage distortion. According to the distortion of the coal storage, we can know it is safe or not. This paper builded a truss structure model of a coal storage based on MSC.Marc. Static, modal and dynamic analysis was carried out on the typical truss structure modal with finite element program. The static deformation characteristics of the coal storage shed under some circumstances, such as wind load, snow load and temperature, are discussed based on the real service states. Analysis the result,we can elicit the rule characteristic of distortion of the coal storage.Earthquake study of the coal storage is very important. If we wants to study the earthquake, we must wok out the Vibration characteristics of coal storage. Vibration characteristics of the structure can also be known from the modal and dynamic analysis.Amend the model, we can wok out the result of coal storage undering abnormity states. Abnormity states are including rust and rupture of the beam. Analysis the result,we can elicit rules and characteristics of distortion of the dangerous coal storage.The work provides some reliable guidance for the developing of the online shed monitoring system, such as the location and the number of the sensors and their distribution. Some conclusions are also given in the paper, which is useful for the designing, building and maintaining of the similar structure.
