Arena's Evacuation Square Design Approach Research

The evacuation square out of arena and stadium is a kind of space which has large area and alterable function. It has so particular characters that can not be treat as simple attaching part of the main building. It can be an active field for the common citizens. The design approach of the evacuation square out of arena is the main propose of this paper.The author analyse the characters of evacuation square base on the Wukesong Culture and the Sports Center and compare several design approaches to discuss a route of humanistic urban landscape design which root in the method of sociology, humanistic ecology, environment psychology, etc..This design approach include three main steps. First step is an investigation on the existing sports centers and parks which has significant meaning to seek the proper utility mode of evacuation square. Furthermore, the data which statistic from the investigation can be an element of the research. Then, the design is processing in the control of humanistic method. This situation realize because of fetching from the quantitative relationships between the three point "human, activities and environment elements". Finally, consider the designs of every function in the evacuation square and harmonize them to be a whole. A kind of cell design is brought due to the particular scale area. The introduction of the design idea in the evacuation square of Wukesong Culture and Sports Center illuminate the practice.The author also expound the factors which influent the activity of citizens in the evacuation square and give some suggestion in the design and rebuild of evacuation square. The design approach which concern the activities of the citizens and with multi-function has great meaning to the frequency of utility in evacuation square and the design of this kind of open space in the future.
