The ABS simulation system is an important measure in the ABS product developing procedure. Utilizing its accurate simulation of the braked vehicle's movement under various road conditions, we make it possible to test the performance of ABS in laboratory. With the simulation system, part of the road test can be reduced and thus the developing period can be shortened and the cost saved.This project was initiated under the cooperation between Shanghai Automotive Brake Systems Co., Ltd. (SABS) and the Automotive Engineering Department of Tsinghua University. Combining the advantage of both sides, the author of this thesis has designed a set of ABS simulation test bench and has made technical reservation for the localization and self-developing of the ABS systems.On the basis of analyzing several foreign and domestic typical ABS real-time simulation systems, and in the style of the system in the university, the author has made some innovations in his own system. The newly built system features a small and high modularized structure. The simulation software was compiled in LabWindows/CVI which is developed by National Instruments (NI). The vehicle model used in this thesis is a 7 DOF two wheel model. Based on result of bench test in SABS, a totally new Braking Pressure Gradient model was developed. And with many other existing models the simulation software was finished.The simulation system has been proved reliable by comparing its results with those acquired in road tests. It has great significance to the ABS product developing procedure.
