The environmental challenges of the 21st century will require tremendous advancements in the automotive industry. The next generation of vehicles has to be much cleaner and more efficient than the current ''conventional''vehicles. Ultimately, zero emission vehicles (ZEV) will be required, pushing the development of electric and fuel cell vehicles. However, battery and fuel cell technology still limit the potential of both developments. For the short-to-mid-term hybrid vehicles (using a combination of an internal combustion engine and electric motor) are a cleaner and more efficient alternative for conventional vehicles, while providing the same range and performance. Hybrid technology is one of the most promising research topics for the partnership for a new generation of vehicles. This paper is supported by the subitem of major project on electronic automobile --Hybrid Electric Vehicle of 863 Program, Carrys on the research of the Regenerate Braking System, one of the key technology of Hybrid Electric Vehicle. The paper has designed a Hydraulic regenerative braking system of Hybrid Electric Vehicle, and brought forward a strategy about the braking force's distributes and controls on the basis of the brake system. This paper has introduced the situation of the force that vehicle born and how to assign the brake force of front axle, of rear axle and the regenerate braking force while applying brake to the vehicle, and analysed the commonly used control strategy of regenerative braking on this basis. To meet the demands that the regenerate brake control strategy requires the brake system to control the brake force precisely, The author designed a Hydraulic regenerative braking system, and its Control System on the basis of the JieFang Brand Hybrid urban passenger bus made of First Automobile Factory of China. This Braking System is a new-type electronic braking system, it has separated the connection between the brake pedal and making driving wheel jar, measured the driver's demand for deceleration of applying the brake with the pedal journey sensor, and calculating the brake...
