With the boom of the information technology and further subdivision of the division of labor in society, it has been put forward higher and higher demands for industrial control and industrial automation. In order to meet market demands and adapt to the development trends in the automatic field, the paper presents the basic framework of the control system of new generation, providing the solution of the controller based on the industrial Ethernet.First, the paper outlines the figure of the next generation control system, and expounds the key of the design of controller clearly. It keeps track of the expected goal of controller and makes the latter task clear. After that, the research and development of controller has been analyzed in detail from following aspects:The platform model analysis and design (hardware design, software design, IEC61131-3 user interface design, real-time design and reliability design), the hardware and software structure provides a real-time and reliabe platform for the mathematical operation of controller;The industrial Ethernet uses redundant technology at which make a convenience and reliable way of information for controller's connection with device network and supervisal network;The design of openning interface based on PCI local bus, and the implementation of the Fieldbus interface by PCI-Fieldbus interface cards, it makes that the contorller has a seamless Fieldbus interface which can connect various Fieldbus device via PCI local bus.Subsequently, according to the expected goal of the controller, the paper compares the controller with the other choosed platform of controller, and demonstrates the feasibility of controller in application. The results show that the controller performs excellently in real-time, openness, reliability, mathematical operation and multi-fieldbus integration, which means that the results have real application. At last, the perspective of the technology which applied in the controller is prospected, and the development trends of the control system in the future are foreseen in this paper.By the research, development, analysis and experiment, the controller based on theindustrial Ethernet is implemented, and the basic framework of next generation control system is finished. The fruit of the task makes the development of the next generation control system feasible and easy.
