Abstract: Under the situation that the price of spring steel rises greatly in domestic market, in order to reduce the material cost of thick leaf-springs of cross-section( 15 mm), our company develop a subject to study together with the domestic well-known spring steel comPanies. This basic puppose of this subject is to reduce the material cost of thick leaf-springs of cross-section( 15 mm) under prerequisite of guaranteeing the quality and the serving performance of stencil plates. The thinking of study is to develop the new-type spring steel to replace 50CWA on the basis of traditional 60Si2MnA to apply to manufacturing thick leaf-springs of cross-section( 15 mm).To carry on optimizational designs to the components of the new materials by the means of CAD; to manufacture by advanced smelt technology such as adopting outside stove concise, vacuum deoxidation,etc; The result of experiments on mechanical performance( hardness, intensity, toughness, Plasticity,etc.) of the new material and technological performance ( complete quenching quality, off-carbon sensitiveness, quenching and splitting inclination, shot-pinning response) shows that the new material accords with the standard of thick leaf-spring of cross-section( 15 mm) and the technological requirement of production. The tests on the performace of the trial-producing stencil plate with new materials indicate that the new materials meet with the requirement of manufacturing technology and serving performance of thick leaf-springs of cross-section( 15mm) and reach the relevant national standard of thick leaf-springs of cross-section(15mms). The test results of trial-production of 50CrVA thick stencil plate sPrings of cross-section(15mm) in batches indicate leaf-springs of cross-section( 15mm) made of new materials meet every technological requirement with steady performance can rePlace 50CrVA all-sidedly and thick leaf-springs of cross-section( 15 mm) can be manufactured in enormous quantities and this reduces more than 3 million Yuan of cost of raw materials every year for our company.
