With the development of our country, the construct of our national bridges make a lot of progress. And now bridges play a very important role in our economic construction. However affected by the durability of structures, surroundings and using conditions, the technique condition of bridges become worse, and more and more bridges need to be maintained and strengthened. In order to realize the scientific management of bridge inspection and maintenance, and assure the construction to be a good and safe running state, the administration hope to own a set of computer-aided system to manage and maintain the whole bridges. And they want the system can help them to make inspection and maintenance plan, evaluate present state of bridges and predict their future conditions and the repair fund. This system can solve all of the problems for the administrators.Based on the known system, this paper develops the part of bridge infrastructure. According to our national criterion, analyzing lots of bridge visual inspection and non-destructive data, using neural network, the system can give the evaluation of bridge infrastructure. During the evaluation, the BCI ( Bridge Condition Index) is adopted as the main index, and according to its scores, the state of bridge can be classified into five groups: A, B, C, D, E. And at the same time this paper establishes the hierachical structure of bridge infrastructure to simulate the decision-making process of experts. After evaluate the lower factors of the hierachical structure, the higher factors can be evaluated. At last the serviceability of bridge infrastructure can be evaluated. With above information, the residual life of infrastructure can be predicted and the maintenance and strengthening plan can be made. When the plan is made, the cost minimization model and bridge quality maximization model are established, and genetic algorithms are adopted.This paper studies the evaluation of bridge infrastructure durability and load-carrying capability. After this study, an integrated bridge evaluation system is established. And using this system the system can help bridge administration make decisions scientifically.
