Bridge is the starting point of road, and road is the extension of bridge. As the key and control sites of road system, bridge occupies an important position and plays an important role in the modern traffic. China has attached increasing importance to the bridge maintenance.The increasing demand for bridge maintenance urgently need to continuously upgrade our bridges maintenance ideas, and continue to improve the bridge maintenance technology, and continue to improve the bridge maintenance management means and methods. Making use of the modern advanced scientific and technological achievements, establishing a efficient bridge maintenance management computer-aided system, which includes bridge data management, the assessment of bridges' technical condition, the prediction of bridges' remaining life, the decision of bridges' maintenance measures, the distribution of bridge maintenance fund, is the starting point and shortcut to resolve the contradiction between the huge demand for the bridge maintenance and the relative lack of bridges maintenance funds, materials, machinery and human.After reviewing the historical development and current situation of the bridge maintenance management at home and abroad, and using modern database technology, a bridge information system is established to manage and inquiry the bridge data in the paper. By the use of AHP, a bridge's defect condition evaluation model is established to estimate the bridge's defect condition.Based on the way of fuzzy nearness comprehensive evaluation, a bridges' load capacity evaluation model is established to assess the bridges' existing load capacity. According to relative relationship between the current peak hour traffic and transport capacity under the design load capacity, a bridges' adaptability evaluation model is established to estimate the bridges' adaptability. Based on Markov forecasting theory, a forecasting method is built to forecast the bridges' remaining life. By means of consulting experts, typical bridge maintenance countermeasure repository and decision-making tree are built to choose the most rational maintenance measure. On the base of the established 0-1 multiple-objective linear programming model and genetic algorithms, it works out the optimum distribution of bridge maintenance fund.The paper aims to establish a complete bridge maintenance management computer system to facilitate bridge maintenance management while having a positive sense in making the bridge management department electronic, and helping the leader to make the scientific decisions.
