In the some experiments (sea, seaport, shipping project), the track of float body, including heave, sway, surge and yaw, roll, pitch, should be provided for the project design and scientific study. Supported by the "211 project", the untouched test system for float body is designed in our experimental room.Firstly, the development of six-free-parameter test system (inside country and outside country) is described, meanwhile, the feasibility and fact meaning is also introduced in the article. Secondly, the hardware of six-free-parameter test system based on double CCD is introduced. Installing and using is simply and conveniently. Following it, the principle of system and design process. The images of object can be gotten from different angles by two-fixed CCD with the same characters, the images is processed through a series of procedures, including processing-threshold, detecting-edge, computing-centroid, to get planar coordinates of object and to translate it from planar-coordinates to three-dimensional world coordinates by calibration of CCD cameras. According to actual experiment and analysis of performance of different arithmetic, linear mode is used as key arithmetic of testing-system. The arithmetic is precise and used conveniently, so can be used to improve the processing-speed. At last but not the end, using relationship of projection to rebuild the three-dimensional coordinates of the objects in the float and computing six free parameters in real time. Meanwhile, in order to design power and convenient control platform, multithreading technique, precise timing technique and plotting technique are adopted and software package Meteor-II/Multi-channel board designed by Matrox is used.Author takes two years to complete designing and debugging test system. The system is approved by experiment that it has high precision, tracking speed rapidly, and meets requirements for the project.
