The number of the load is increasing with the quick development of the national economy, especially the number of the nonlinear load. But the loads are deteriorating the power quality of the power system, while those load increase the productivity of our country. And the most important is that many exact instruments have high demands of power quality.The definition of the power quality and the method of classifying power quality are disserted, and the methods of measuring all indexes of power quality are also introduced detailedly in the paper. At the last part of he paper, compiling the program files of all indexes of power quality is accomplished.Floating-point DSP—TMS320VC33 is used as the processor of the system, which is made in TI company. The design of application software is simplified by using C language to compile the program files and the embedded real-time operating system—μC/OS— II. The program can be transplanted easily, that is helpful to improve the compiled efficiency of the arithmetic and to improve the reused ability of the software which can reduce the number of the rewriting software. Advantages of the embedded real-time operating system — μC/OS— II is useful to improve the stability and the reliability of the system.Experimentations proved the exactness of the software design, and verified the feasibility of C/OS- II in the power quality analytical instrument.
