This paper introduces the kinds ,the development trend ,the investigation background and the investigation actuality of the backlight. After analyzing the radiation principle, the topologies and the dimming strategies of driver circuit for the cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL),the paper does some research work on several driver circuits, such as Royer,half-bridge and full-bridge. This paper brings forward a novel synchronous primary-side dimming control scheme for cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) driver circuit and its principle by comparing it with conventional CCFL circuit. Its condition for quasi-sinusoidal operation is studied. This technology is testified by two sample products (drive 1CCFL and 2CCFL). This paper manufactures a sample product of 4CCFL using Royer topology. TL1451 has two-route exports, and every route is made up of the entirely same Royer frame, every route driver has 2 CCFL, so a product of 4CCFL is achieved. The sample product of 4CCFL realizes the soft start-up and the function of over-voltage protect also. After studying the capability, the characteristics and the work principle of the OZ960 which is used in the CCFL full-bridge driver, this paper designs the driver circuit of 6CCFL.The paper analyzes the form of this topology resonance loop hardly, and analyzes 6 voltage-feedback routes and 6 current-feedback routes .
