This paper focuses on power cable with XLPE monitoring on operation. It analyzes the importance of cable on-line monitoring, introduces its technique level all over the world and its developing trend of on-line monitoring system for XLPE power cable insulation fault. Based on this, an on-line monitoring system for cable insulation according to local situation is required urgently.The several existed methods were discussed by this paper about on-line insulation monitoring on cable. Then analyze and compare these methods, We induce their essential: to carry out on-line monitoring is to detect a serial of electric parameters, then base on the correlation of prior data coming from experiment and insulation character of actual cable, we can assess the cable insulation condition. The DC superposition method was mainly utilized because it was ripe theory about On-line Insulation Monitoring on the XLPE power cable, in addition of the DC partial current method. It is a core of the online monitoring device on XLPE power cable to more advanced digital signal chip at present. And the system will leave resources of the hardware for the cable fault location. As for DC superposition method and DC partial current method, we designed and finished a set of current correcting and monitoring device. This work includes datum collecting and data merging, LED display program.The paper mainly concerns about:(1) On-line Monitoring Methods on the XLPE Cable by using the artificial software.(2) Choice of the hardware scheme of the XLPE online monitoring system(3 ) Design of the hardware system of XLPE online monitoring system. This work mainly includes the design of amplifier, the selection of chips, the design of power supply system, data aquisition, resulting display and PCB design.(4) Design of the partly procedure of system, including the software of data aquisition on AD7865, BootLoader and the software of display the interface communicator between DSP...
