The Research And Realization Of City Planning And Design System Based On ArcGIS

At the present time,City Planning and design Systems based on AutoCAD are widely used in the field of urban planning.Though these systems have good drawing ability, they not only lack the ability of spatial analysis and inquery but also could not meet the requirements such as seamless storage and management of mass data, intergrated functions of GIS and OA. So Building a city planning and design system based on a kind of GIS software platform is our pressing need in the course of urbanization. This thesis first starts with the basic city planning theory and operation flow, takes the construction of Xi'an city planning and design system as the concret target, brings forward the general structure of city planning and design system, chooses ArcGIS as our developing platform through comparing domestic and foreign GIS software platform; Secondly, realisation technology and developing environment of our system are discussed, the secondary developing method of combination VBA and VB based on Arcmap is chosen to complete city planning and design system; Thirdly, our system is detailedly designed, and system database is designed and created supported by the latest object oriented data model, namely Geodatabase; Finally, city planning and design system is established supported by visual developing tools, The functions such as map general browsing, map retrieval, planning feature inquery, planning index statistics, form drawing and cross-section design of urban road are fulfilled. Making good use of functions of spatial data analysis, treatment and display supported by Arcobjects, the efficiency of our system development are greatly raised and our application has good appearance and perfect functions. Most users, who are not familiar with the knowledge of complicated concept and operation of GIS, can use our system freely. So the applied scope of our system is greatly enlarged. Our research has great realistic significance on the development of city planning and design. It also has positive effect on promoting the study and application of ArcGIS in the field of city planning and design.
