Experiments Study On Ice Jam Water Level In Curve Flume

Ice is a ubiquitous water phenomenon in cold area rivers,the change of water level during ice jam is one the uppermost phenomena in ice jam reach.Frstly,this study induce the general situations on river ice and the necessity of the study on ice jam water level,then discusses the formation conditions and the procedure of the icecap,the formation mechanism and its development laws of ice jam,the change procedure of water level caused by ice jam,the factors affecting ice jam water level such as river characteristc, thermal, water dynamic and man-induced etc,and then discusses the compution methods on ice jam water level inside and outside in details ,at last ,discripts distributing laws of the ice jam thickness in three dimensions,analyse the inter qulitative or quantitative relationships among the water velocity ,ice discharge and initial water depth through the ice jam water level experiments in a curve flume under three different contions(initial water depth and ice discharge fixed,change water velocity;initial water depth and velocity fixed,change ice discharge;water velocity and ice discharge fixed,change initial water depth) and then compared with ice jam water level in experiments in straight flume and nature river reach.
