Research And Application Of New Type Distance Protection Of Power Line

With great development, the power system is more and more strict with relay-protection especially in super high voltage and large capability power system. In the power system which is very complex in configuration, the protection device whose function is perfect should be adopted, and distance protection is just one of this types. This article researches and develops new type of micro-computer distance protection device used in transmission and distribution power lines.At first, this article discusses the basic principle of distance protection, the design and realization scheme. As the main protection device in medium and high voltage power system, distance protection's configuration is very complicated, also it's software is rather enormous, so designing the software of distance protection by means of modularizing method is effective.Secondly, this article designs Ethernet communication technology based on TCP/IP protocols directly within protection device, so the discuss of designing and realization of Ethernet communication in embedded system is the emphases of this article. On the base of Ethernet communication, this article develops the communication protocol of power system which meets the requests of IEC103. IEC103 protocol communicates with the controlling system of sub-station by Ethernet, which changes the traditional communication style that communicating via communication controller. This new type of communication realizes the series and standardization.Finally, this article completes the test of this device's software functions in the Center of Quality Supervision and Verification of Relay of China, and all the technical performances achieve even surpass country's requests. Also, this protection device is appraised as domestic topping product by Science and Technology Bureau of Jiangsu Province in 2004.
