With the economic advancing at high speed, demands for electric increases rapidly and shows distinct mismatch between on-peak load and off-peak load. By now, the ratio of the air conditioning electric consumption to the load of the electric power is 30-40 percent, what's more, the time of the peak load appears synchronized between them, it makes the conflict of the insufficiency between electric supply and off-peak load more seriously. Recently, the effect of loading shifting makes the ice storage air conditioning more prominent and grows increasingly with the guidance and encouragement of the related policy.For the direct evaporate ice-on-coil storage system, the evaporate coil is taken into the ice groove, the ice shapes on the surface of the coil, there is not secondary heat exchanger, the storage lost is small, so it's application is first and abroad. However, the resistance of the ice is big, In the course of the storage, thermal resistance enlarges, ice layer enlargement gets slowly, storage rate reduces and the COP of the chiller falls evidently. The storage time of the conventional direct evaporate ice-on-coil storage system is 8-10 hours, ice layer thickness is 40~60mm.Now, because of scarcity of the total electric supply and the mismatch of peak and off-peak load, the electric power becomes new trend that the peak load time lasts longer and the off-peak load time get shorter, thus the original direct evaporate ice-on-coil device is not suit to the change of the electric power, so it is necessary to study the coil direct evaporate ice-on-coil device again.In accordance with the changing trend of the electric power and the ice storageproperty of the direct evaporate ice-on-coil device, we adopt theory integrate with experiment method, study and analyze the direct evaporate ice-on-coil storage system. Through the study, we obtain the conclusion that when the off-peak time abate, it can keep the higher storage rate through adjusting the direct evaporate ice-on-coil density. It play the foundation for amendment of conventional direct evaporate ice-on-coil storage equipment.The basis of this paper is the high density direct ice-on-coil storage experiment platform which can change the density of evaporate coil, according to the different density of the coil, we do static and dynamic experiment, measure and collect data through data receiver, analyze the experiment outcome and get the rational, efficient density of the direct evaporate ice-on-coil device. It can provide the academic and experimental reference for design and optimization of this series thermal storage air conditioning equipment.
