With the advantage of beautiful shape, reasonable strength, light weight, low cost and covering heavy space, in these decades, a lot of countries are researching, developing and popularizing these long-span structures. In order to make network shell structure designed more rationally, more safely and more economically, lots of domestic and international researchers devoted themselves to studying the non-linear, especially the geometrically non-linear performance of the network shell structure, set up many new theories and new methods, and made many achievements. However, all these achievements have not reached the degree of making people satisfied yet. At present, numerous scientific and technical personnel are focusing on the problems of the nonlinear dynamic performance of the network shell structure.In this paper, static and dynamic problems of the geometrically non-linear performance of network shell structure are studied by the QR-method produced by Professor Qi. Firstly, the author utilizes the law of spline subdomain to construct the tangent stiffness matrix of spatial beam-column element and the geometrically non-linear stiffness equation of network shell structure and goes on its non-linear static analysis. Secondly, the author sets up the linear dynamic equation and the geometrically non-linear dynamic equation of the network shell structure with QR-method and solves them with the unconditionally stable arithmetic and the law of spline direct integral separately. Finally, the author works out the computational program of the geometrically non-linear performance of single-layer network shell structure and compares the results with that of the finite element software ANSYS.The contrast indicates that QR method not merely overcomes the defect and deficiency of traditional finite element methods, calculates more simply and more accurately, gets higher the precision and good astringency, but also provides convenience to the programming personnel while writing the procedure. Therefore, QR-method is an economic and effective method of structural analysis and calculation with great value for popularizing.
