The small air separating equipment of the Base does not meet needs from increasing launch business of commercial satellites, still owing to an new type of rocket adopting "LO2 + kerosene" engine. So people have to research how to elevate outputs and reduce power expend. By modeling and simulation, this article try to improve controlling procedure of small air separating equipment, the aim is to cut down the power expend of equipment, and to increase the outputs. The work can be summarized as follows:1. Constructing the model of the air separating equipmentBased on theory analyses and running data of real devices, the models of different devices in system are made, then, by means of SIMULINK toolboxes in MATLAB, the model of whole system is constructed through merging all those independent device models according to simplified process circuit of the equipment. The model can describe the simulating relations between outputs, power expend and operatic parameters.2. Improving control of the equipment through simulationAvailable good projects are obtained by ways of theory analyses, and available projects (the groups of operatic parameters) are put into the system model, by researching simulation results, the Improved operatic project can be got. The Improved operatic project has been verified in real device running. Before this step, the affects of operatic parameters on system outputs, power expend have been discussed by running the equipment model, as result, the simulating diagrams on the relations between outputs, power expend and operatic parameters are obtained. Finally, the improved adjust principles on key parameters are put forward, thanks to combining the simulation conclusions with rules in equipment operating experiences.Owing to the limits of technique, the Improving control of Small Air Separating Equipment beforetime have some blindness. However, improving control based on modeling and simulation get the advantages in following aspects: effects, cost, range of choices, etc. so it has the high value of extend appliance in such equipments as refrigeration, cryogenics devices.
