Urban space in our country is changing rapidly. In citise, car increase, city demolishment and build acceleration make streets space change dramatically. Streets spcae become too big ,too empty and orderless. Considering all those situations, the thesis study the dimention and scale of streets space. On the base of exploring the behind influence factors, the thesis put forward principles and measures of how to control the scale and dimetion of streets space, which control in three recessive layers and three dominant layers separatly. Finaly, some typical areas in Yuzhong Peninsula in Chongqing are presented as the exaples. And some analyses, evaluations and proposes are made. The thesis contains two main parts :theory reasearch and design measures and the latter one is base on the former one. The former one include chapter one and chapter two, which expain the relative theory deeply. Street scale is the integral experience of the whole space and time, inluding both dynamic space and static space. The essence of street seal is not the size of space but the order of size and change( that is the order of scale) and the comfortable place experience base on fitting scale. The characteristic of streets scale in mountainous city come form the special comfiguration and envirnment. The latter part puts forward the principles and measures of how to control thestreet scale. In three dominant layers --the block, the integral street space, thenear-peole space--the scals of streets are controled as an integer. The threerecessive layers --nature, moden city, humen--is both the principles and the aimswo should reach, only with the concodance of each other can characteristic streets in mountainous city be set up.
