Aiming at some of problems that occur at controlling blasting demolition of towering buildings, the course of collapse occurring during blasting demolition of towering buildings is researched through theory analysis, numerical simulation, and so on, in the paper. The way of collapse in blasting demolition of towering buildings is summed up, and introduced the strongpoint and weakness of each collapse way and its applied situation. The condition of lose stability of towering buildings have be discussed, and thought: Frame construction of the building can be simplified to construction pole to analyses and confirmed the condition of lose stability in whole; The condition of lose stability of chimney is confirmed mainly from stress calculation of two sides about the partial construction break of pull and shearing strength. Applying the dynamics theory, the physics course of collapse in chimney blasting demolition is further researched, some reasons of forward rush and recoil are analyzed, calculation formulas about the forward rush distance is deduced, and mechanics analysis on the phenomenon of second rupture and folding collapse is carried out. Finally, applying software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, the directional blasting and bi-directional folding blasting of chimney are simulated, and according to the simulation results, it can be found out that the collapse course during blasting demolition of towering buildings can be better simulated by applying software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, which will play an important guidance role on theoretical research and design about controlling blasting of towering buildings.
