The Research Of Applying GIS Technology To City Traffic Assignment

The Geographical Information System(GIS) is compositive applied system developed in recent years,GIS technology provides us an effective tool for traffic assignment .But it is still a problem that how to apply GIS technology to city traffic assignment.This research aims at applying GIS technology to city traffic assignment and realizing the combination of GIS technology and tradional traffic assignment method.The paper ,in view of study categories,can be divided into 6 parts as follows: summarize of traffic assignment,summarize of GIS and MapX,research of the representation and storage structure of roadnet , design of the traffic assignment database, based GIS technology data preparation research ,based GIS technology the realization of non-balance model traffic assignment.The first two parts are the basic ones,while part 3,prat 4 and part 5 is the focus with part 6 as the application.Therefore all of them compose an interrelated and united frame.Based GIS technology ,the research design the database for traffic assignment ,with the using of GIS function of ActiveX component MapX ,realizes the shortest path and the effective path's searching and displaying ,Combining with Maanshang city traffic planing ,adopts the network of Maanshan city,setts up the geogmetrical structure with the MapX programme,builds up the nodes,links,turns and other data that is requried in traffic assignment automatically,and carried through the all-or-nothing traffic assignment in the Maanshan city's network,realise the application of GIS technology in the city traffic assignment.
