It causes about 40% of turbine faults. Vibration problems are the major faults of blade.Natural frequency is the major index to check blade's vibration characteristics. However, long testing time is needed in the traditional method without enough precision. To improve the accuracy and efficiency, a new system based on PC is developed. The system has been used in power plant of NanJing JinLing Petrochemical Company for two times with great success. Averagely, only 20 seconds are needed for one blade. Results can be stored and printed conveniently. The portable blade frequency measurement instrument based on DSP is designed next. The DSP-based circuit board is made and the software program for testing hardware circuit board is coded. The testing program was successfully loaded into RAM of DSP chip and the circuit board has been tested eligible by the testing program. Conclusion and further research area are put forward in the end of the paper.
