Three Gorges Project is the largest hydro-junction engineering in China and also all over the world. Whether the hydraulic turbines be running safely and efficiently is attentioned by all circles. The running water turbine units have occurred the phenomena of extraordinary sway and loud noise. Based on the project of vibration research on Three Gorges water turbines, in this paper, the following works are accomplished by using the FEA analysis software, ANSYS:1) Establishing FEA model of the upper bracket and head cover of Three Gorges water turbine units by ANSYS, and adding boundary conditions according to actual case;Accomplished static analysis to the upper bracket and head cover respectively;Accomplished modal analysis to the upper bracket and head cover respectively, obtained their natural frequencies and modal shapes of vibration, validated their rationality, and studied the modes' harm to normally running of the units;According to the measured data of the running water turbine units at Three Gorges, using the simulated time-dependent impacting loads, which are acted on the upper bracket by rotor shaft, accomplished the transient dynamic analysis of the upper bracket, and obtained the dynamic response characteristics of it, which can offer important reference data to the vibration research of the units.Not only the results of this paper can be offered reference to vibration research of water turbine, but also the computational methods and ideas can be used for the analysis of other structures.
