The rapid development of traffic is one symbol of the development of economy. In recent years, there are lots of bridges built to be satisfied with economic development in our country, which accelerate the economic development of these regions. As we all know, reinforced concrete has become the main material of bridges by right of its some merits, such as, low price, modeling easily, wearing well and so on, which are impossible to be substituted by other material, However, what need be noticed is whether concrete or bridge itself will have some problems in the course of its construction or working, which may take an influence on the normal working and safe capabilities of structure. To insure that structure can work safely, it is necessary to correctly evaluate its health in time.Based on this purpose, this thesis has used reinforced concrete bridge with many spans as studying object and completely expatiated the theory about its damage detection. First, this thesis discussed non-damage detective technology and testing technology about reinforced concrete. Following it, this thesis introduced how to use these data coming form field testing to detect structural damage. Second, this thesis dissertated the relation about stress and strain of concrete, intension rule, and the finite element theory of reinforced concrete. And then, this thesis suggested using software, such as ANSYS, LS-DYAN, ABAQUS, MSC etc, which compiled based on finite element theory, to simulate the actual engineering structures. After the field testing and numerical analysis, we can compare the data measured in the field with the theoretical results, and judge structural damage much more correctly. Finally, by using the method to analyze an actual engineering structure, this thesis comprehensively revaluated how to analyze data gained from field testing, and how to build model, select material, and deal with the results when simulating structure. Through the analysis of the actual engineering structure, it can be validated that the method combined field testing with numerical simulation is a perfect method to detect structural damage.
