It is necessary to discharge battery on a regular time basis in order to activate it and measure its capacity, in the process of its usage and maintenance. At present, the conventional discharging devices are resistor and phase-controlled active inverter discharging devices. The first type is difficult to realize constant current discharging and accurately calculate the discharging capacity of battery; the second type has disadvantages of large volume, high noise, low output power factor, high harmonic pollution and difficulty in protecting during power cut, etc. In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, an innovative single-phase sine wave inverter battery feedback discharging device is proposed in this project, which adopting IGBT device, full-bridge phase-shift soft-switching and high-frequency PWM rectifier and inverter techniques. This paper first presents a single-phase sine wave inverter battery feedback discharging device, which consists of DC/DC converter circuit adopting full-bridge phase-shift soft-switching technique and single-phase PWM rectifier/inverter circuit, and the system structure and operation principle of the device are also presented in this paper.Furthermore, the control method of the battery discharging device is studied, the design method of main circuit parameters, control circuit, IGBT driver circuit and protection circuit are presented respectively. Finally an experimental prototype adopting the system structure, control circuit and design method presented in this paper is manufactured, and corresponding experimental study is carried out. The results show that the device can realize constant current discharging and feeding back the energy released by battery into power system, and has the advantages of high output power factor, sinusoidal output current waveshape, no harmonic pollution to power system, accurately measuring the capacity of battery, etc. It's very suitable for the battery discharging test of 220V/110V DC system.Because of author's level in this field, thesis inside may exist the place of lack, need the further research.
