The system of supporting and tracking of the feed for Large Radio Telescope (LT) consists of a cable-cabin parallel mechanism and a Stewart platform. It is pivotal for the former to study the foundation of the dynamical model of this system, the analysis of the wind-induced vibration and the similarity. Mathematical study and analysis of the cable-cabin system for the LT or, as it is here called huge flexible Stewart platform, are discussed. All these can be summarized as follows:Firstly, to study the moving control of the cable-cabin system, based on the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model of the feed supporting system of 50-meter scaled model for LT, the analyses of the stifmess of the huge flexible Stewart platform are explored and searched. The servo bandwidth of this platform is then determined by the distributions of the structural frequencies in the workspace of this system.Secondly, the FEA model of cable-cabin-tower of 50-meter model for LT is modeled. The static analysis and random wind-induced dynamics analysis are based on this model. These analyses contribute to the supplemental analyses of the used FEA model of cable-cabin of 50-meter model and a firm foundation for constructing the FEA model of cable-cabin-tower of 500-meter prototype.Thirdly, to ensure the validity of the mechanical model and feasibility of this mechanism design of 5-meter model for LT, the author founds the mechanical model based on cable-length control, designs some parameters of the mechanism and makes the path programming for this mechanical structure. Finally, the pilot study on the similar theory between 5-meter scaled model and 50-meter scaled model is done. The method is explored that acquisition of the aberration coefficients are used for amending main dynamical items of the similar theory based on the experiments, which is the foundation of the similarity between the model and LT500m prototype.
