The advantage and shortcoming of vacuum hydrostatic guideway is analyzed on the base of the theory and application of gas lubrication in this paper. the working principle and problems which should be considered in design is introduced. Firstly, the controlling equations and the B-rep solid fluid model of vacuum hydrostatic guideway is built by CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) technology with CFX software. The conclution that annular rectangular hydrostatic guideway is better than other structures is obtained by comparing the curve of pressure ,velocity ,mass flowate and load-carrying capacity of circle cavity and circle pad, circle cavity and rectangular pad, rectangular cavity and rectangular pad, annular circlepad, annular rectangular pad. Secondly,the theory calculation and simulation analysis of annular rectangular vacuum hydrostatic guideway is carried out and the flow track,the distribution of pressure ,velocity is achived.The effection of the changes of gas supplying and pumping pressure ,the width and depth of annual groove,the size and depth of gas cavity,the number and diameter of curtail hole on the characters of distribution of pressure ,velocity and load-carrying capacity is studied.These is helpful to design and application of annular rectangular cushion. Lastly, the problems to be gone step further is put forward.
