With the rapid increasing of the reduced head and unit capacity of the hydraulic turbine in recent years, the structure vibration question of hydroelectric station has already become a key problem in the design and operation of power station. Duo to the vibration, the benefit of power station system is affected. Long-term vibration may cause fatigue damage of the structure and limit the operation of units. Meanwhile, the abnormal vibration and the huge noise may make the workers discomfort, long-term exposing to the vibration and noise can bring bad effect on body and mind of the workers. Therefore, careful study on the vibration that may appear should be made, and the measures to control and prevent vibrations need to be adopted. In this paper, aiming at certain power station in river channel of the some hydro project, the dynamic character of a plant monolith and the earthquake resistance of it were studied. The author has accomplished the following researches:(1) Comparative study shows that the foundation both have influence on the frequency and the mode of vibration of the plant monolith. Therefore, in accurate study, the foundation should be considered.(2) Researched both upstream water and downstream water have influence on the inherent vibration character of the plant monolith. Therefore, in accurate study, both upstream water and downstream water can't be neglected.(3) Analyze the inherent vibration character of the composite structureof floor and wind tunnel, which is the bottle neck of the plant monolith.(4) Study the vibration source in hydropower plant, and resonance checking is given to the plant monolith and the composite structure of floor and wind tunnel, then give the corresponding anti-vibration measures.(5) Calculate dynamic response of the plant monolith in normal condition. The results show that the vertical displacement and the sum of horizontal and torsional displacement both meet the criterion.(6) In this paper, evaluate the effects of vibration in hydropower plant on people using Meister curve.(7) Dynamic response of the plant monolith was calculated under earthquake and it accord with the universal law .
