With the development of the modern industry, the exploiture that the energy of the petroleum, natural gas and the coal mineral industry, make the piping conveyance to face the very vast foreground. The leakage accidents in pipelines transportation not only cause great loss of material, but also pollute the environment; what's more, it may lead to serious casualty. Leakage accidents in pipeline transportation occur frequently in recent years. It is necessary to study leakage detecting technology to raise the sensitivity of detection and accuracy of localization. Pipeline leakage detection is a multi-field object, which involved many subjects, such as pipeline hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, sensor technology, subtle signal detection and signal processing. The main efforts accomplished can be summed up as the following aspects:1 The method of characteristic used to pipeline leak instantaneous change numeric solution is analyzed in this dissertation. Instantaneous change calculation imitation program is used to analyze the curves which response pressure and flux parameter of pipeline changing with time and distance after leak.2 We have accomplished the physics model experiment in the hydraulics laboratory in 2004. According to the data from experiment pipeline 10m and 60m long, the attributes of fluctuating pressure and the hydraulic parameters of pipe line inlet and outlet have been analyzed in detail.3 According to the result of the statistical characteristic analysis, author applies SPRT method to identify the transition flow and the hydraulic grade line method to leak localization in experiment pipe. The more exact result was received.4 The long distance pipe laying is more and more popular in our country, considering oil has the different physics characteristics from water, the method of leak detection in water pipeline has been advanced and applied to oil pipe. This dissertation has combined model experiment and numerical simulation and detailedly analyzed the SPRT and hydraulic grade line method for leak detection. This method is superior to others on low expense and simple maintenance. It is practical for actual projects.
