The field of sheet forming and numerical simulation is an attractive one becauseof the enormous importance of the subject to the economies of industrializedcountries. With the development of finite element technique and computer, numericalsimulation has become an effective tool of technology analysis and optimal designgradually. But, there are some limitations such as high tolerance, too muchcalculation time etc. in the field of automobile panel forming. In this thesis, infectionin forming capability of automobile panel by geometry feature is concerned withfocus on limitations in the field of automobile panel forming. More than forty numerical model of automobile panel are analyzed in this thesis,and some basic features are abstracted, stress-strain states of these features in panelforming process are analyzed by the method of numerical simulation. Experimentalresearch and numerical simulation were carried out in the process of automobile paneldrawing. Drawbead restraining force and friction coefficient were tested in theprocess of drawing and the basic data for numerical simulation was provided.Combining the design of covering plank of pillar D in TOURAN, the MPV ofShanghai Volkswagen Co., Ltd., arts and craft geometry model was made up andstamping simulation using PAM-STAMP 2G software was done. The stamping artsand crafts of this component were validated, and some laws of automobile panelforming were provided.
