In this paper, the research on numerical simulation of punch-forming parameters for automobile frame parts of sheet metal is done by using the non-linear FEM software SHEET-FORMING. According to the requirement of punch-forming process and the structural characters of the part, the simulation plan of first-step punch-forming for the part has been made here. It includes the moving manner of mold-baffle, geometrical characters of drawbead section, shape and dimension of blank, variety of unit blank holding force. In this paper, the structural characters of the part are concluded. With blankholding face and the process side chosen, FEM model for all parts made, suitable simulation parameters defined, hardware and software introduced, the progress of first-step punch-forming, such as loading, unloading, trimming, is simulated: the Z-displacement, V-M stress, shell thickness, plastic strain, FLD are discussed. The springback displacement is also analyzed when sheet metal is unloaded and trimmed. In this paper, using the simulation results of shell thickness, plastic strain, section, the influence of moving manner of mold and die, blankholding ring with drawbead and without drawbead, shape and dimension of blank, variety of unit blank holding force, geometrical parameters of drawbead is discussed in detail. And the influence of geometrical characters of drawbead section is analyzed when loaded, unloaded, trimmed. The results of simulation above show that the suitable process parameters for the punch-forming of automobile frame parts of sheet metal is mold-baffle fixed, stationary blankholding ring with drawbead, blank with its four corners cut, about 1.0MPa unit blank holding force. And all of this will do good to the production of automobile frame parts with good quality.
