Product configuration, the design system for mass customization (MC), is one of the key stages in MC. As a result of the diversity and uncertainty of customer order and the complexity of configuration rules, product configuration becomes to be a difficult process for mankind handling. Therefore, to build up an integrative digital model for MC design system is of great importance.Based on comprehensive surveys of mass customization theory and its application, this dissertation proposes a design system for customer-drive mass customization (CDMC) and carries out the research work of its digitalization. Firstly the dissertation constructs a product structure model (PSM) that is combined with configuration knowledge and separated with real parts. Then according to the characteristics of MC, it puts forward a parameter built modular design method. Furthermore, this dissertation brings forward the concept of customer driven. Based on customer order analysis, parameter mapping and its description, the dissertation proposes a customer drive model, which strengthen the role of customer in MC product design. Followed by, it develops an institution of encode regulation on module properties and defines a matching-extent algorithm for estimation of interface compatibility. In the end, with employing frame theory to digitalize the configuration system, it introduces framework-based reasoning, matching-extent estimation function, fuzzy theory and TOPSIS method to different stages' modeling of configuration and consequently realizes the full-scale modeling for CDMC design system.
