Today, fierce global competition, increasing product variety Increasingly complexity structure and technology cause recycle of produt development become longer, but market competition demands product recycle life to be shortened. Thus, the old mass production system is being changed into the mass customization system. Mass customization aims at satisfying individual customer needs with masss production efficiency and mass-production price. Customer has been placed the first place. Companies can gain advantage during the competion by providing products with relatively low price and high speed.Furthermore, information technology is changing the way of operation of industrial economy. Manufacturers take advantage of web to carry out market survey, product development, marketing, after-sales services, which are the latest direction of electronic business. But most of webs just stay at the level of introdution or show. Customer can not customize the product which they want. Therefore, it is important to build the system of internet-based for CDMC (customer drive mass customization).At first, the problem of existing design technology are analyzed. The strategy of mass customization and DFMC (design for mass customization) is presented. DFMC is successfully implemented by the technology of design for product family, modularity design, standardization design and tabular layouts of article characteristics. Furthermore, the basic theory, implemental method of system of interner-based CDMC and operation model for MC is studied. Product family is the appropriate product model for mass customization. The paper studies on the product family modeling process. The prototype system for product displaying and customization based on web is built. With the system prototype , the product are designedaccording DFMC theory in the paper. Product family is developed. Products meeting the order requirement are formed with the product configurator based on the product family. Product cofigurator of the system which is suitable for CDMC is based on feature and options.
