The Switched Reluctance Motor Drives(SRD) is a speed-adjustable motor system, in which a double-salient-pole reluctance motor, power c onverter and a control unit are integrated in a whole. With the advantages of simple mechanical structure and high efficient, SRD has already been the research hotspot of the motor drives' family.The study both in theory and in practice on SRD Control System is widely carried out in this dissertation. The latest development of the same research field both at home and at abroad are well analyzed at the beginning of the dissertation. Meanwhile, a description of the basic principles of SRD and its configurations and features are presented. The control modes including chopped current control and angular-position are also well analyzed, which make the theoretical basis on the hardware and software design of mid-speed control system. Through the analyses of the topology and performance of main circuits, the optimal scheme of main circuit is designed. Based on the digital control system using DSP TMS320C240, SRD system with the PID control scheme is carried on. The emulation models of the whole control system using MATLAB6.5 are established, with which series of emulation calculations is studied. In the experiment of mid-speed SRD, the results and analyses are given. A comparative analysis between the emulation waves and the experimental waves verified basically the validity of the control strategy.
