Since the implementation of the new energy efficiency standards, energy-saving, environmental protection and smart washing machines are more and more favored by consumers.Household washing machines generate water flow by rollers or rotating impeller, and then clothes are washed by power generated roller or impeller.Energy efficient motor and control system are the key to energy-saving and emission-reduction, and play a significant role in household appliances upgraded.Switched reluctance motor and its control system have simple and reliable structure. SRMs are able to be controlled in over a wide speed range, and have been widely used in aerospace, household appliances, towing and transportation industries.To improve the performance of the washing machine, this paper analyzes the drive system model of SRM by simulation and use MCU achieve the control scheme of CVC and APC.The experiment proves that this SRM drive system has many excellent features, such as large starting torque, low starting current, suitable for frequent starts and stops and reversible, extremely suitable for applications in the appliance drive system.The specific contents of this paper are as follows:1) summarizes the current research overview of washing machine motor drive system, analyzes the basic principle of a switched reluctance motor, control strategies and operational characteristics.2) considering the demand washing machine applications and the performance of the system, this paper sets up nonlinear model of switched reluctance motor. Drive system model uses the control scheme of combining CVC and APC, set up simulation model of current and speed double closed loop control mode, verifies the reasonableness of the selected control scheme through simulation.3) considering the operating characteristics and design requirements of household washing machines, this paper chooses C8051F310 as the core of the control system, designs the hardware circuit, including a controller, a rectifying circuit, a power converter, the rotor position detection circuit and other auxiliary circuits. Software has the modular programming ideas, so it improves the readability of the software itself, and it is easy to modify. The software design includes main program, speed calculation subroutine, ADC interrupt subroutine, anti-jamming software subroutine and PI controller subroutine.4) This system achieves a smooth motor speed control in the range of 0 ~ 2150 rpm and fits the requirements of the project which need a high output efficiency in all speed range after continuous improvement and debugging. It will be successful applied in the field of household washing machines, and will promote the upgrading of household appliances.
