Pump station is the important composition part of water conservancy project It has played an extremely important role in such a lot of respects as storm drainage, irrigation, water diversion, municipal water supply, industrial comsumption, navigation, electric power generation, etc.. It has improved the ability to defend natural calamity effectively, has promoted the development of national economy and offered powerful support for sustainable development of national economy.Flap gate is the important cut-off valve in pump station project Because of their simple structure and reliability, being able to shorten the length of outlet passage and facilitate the starting of pumping system in comparison with siphonic vacuum-distroied cut-off scheme. There are outstanding advantages for flap gate in construction, saving investment, using of the project of lift station. So in the engineering structures it has got extensive application. But at the same time, flap valves always show some disadvantage. One side, the head loss of the exit is too great; the other side, heavy impact force can be often produced because of the hydraulic pressure and its own weight when the water pump shuts down, it is apt to jeopardize the structure of the pump valve and threaten the security of the hydraulic engineering works.According to the real application of the flap gate, this subject combines the former person's research results, further analyses the destruction reason of the flap valve and puts forward theoretical equation of motion. Then this paper carrys on mechanics research to various kinds of the flap gate including the door of the round and rectangle, sets up mathematics models and improves the calculation formulas of the impact At the same time in this paper the hinges of the doors are analysed and the formulas of the impact force of the door joints are proposed. Using mechanics of elasticity and theoretical mechanics, the impact coefficient is considered and the bending of the flap gate with small deflection under various kinds of situations is obtained. This thesis offers the basis for safe and high-efficient operation of the flap valve of pump stations.
