At present,Concrete structures reinforced and prestressed with steel bars are widely used in an array of structures. However,It is a major problem for structures aggravating because of rebar rorrosion. Concrete structures reinforced with steel bars especially high-speed bridges,at locations of harsh weather conditions (e.g heavy rain and snow),their cost for protection and maintenance are very expensive.In order to overcome the question,experts have found several measures in many yeas study.One of them is the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) tendons.This way proved to be dependable in present time.because it has many advantages such as high-strength,low-density,better corrosion-resistant and so on, so it is becoming a pleasant replacement for traditional steel reinforcement in concrete structures.Both materials have identical functions,however,basic differences exsit in the mechanical properties between steel and CFRP that should be taken into account in the structural design and analysis of concrete beams reinforced and prestressed with CFRP bars.For example,a ductile failure takes place for steel bars subjected to tensile and shear stresses,while brittle failure takes place for CFRP bars.Further more,CFRP bars provide high tensile strength,while their modulus of elasticityand shear strength are lower than those of steel bars.This paper describes the experiment that CFRP bars are used for tensile bars in concrete beams subjected to equal span three-point flexural texting under vertical loads. For this ordinary concrete beams,whether they have stirrup,different reinforcement ratio and adding polypropylene fiber to concrete,we can watch effects of this factors on ordinary concrete beams and get the calculate methods about unltimate load-carrying capatiable and deflection of this beams. In addition,we carried on the simulation analysis about this beams subjected to equal span three-point load by the finite element analysis software ANSYS ,so that we can get a detail result.The conclusion of the paper is about the CFRP tendons we srudied,but the interrelated study methods and some conclusion can be consulted in similar researches.In the latter research about the application of CFRP tendons in concrete structures ,this paper will give full play to its effect.
